Male

Brewski

Age: born app. mid of July 2023
Gender: male
Neutered:
no, too young
Height: when grow up app. under knee (short legs)
Sociable with: male and female dogs, puppies and cats

The little boy Brewski is friendly towards people but rather submissive. He doesn't really know how he should behave yet. He has no problem being picked up, stroked and cuddled. It also seems that he enjoys it, but he can't quite believe that what he feels is ok yet. Brewski moves slowly and when you approach him, he lies on the floor and waits. He doesn't flee into a corner or run away from us 2-legged friends, on the contrary, he waits to see what happens. Things are improving day by day and we are sure that Brewski will soon be able to enjoy his new life.

We are looking for people with experience in dealing with shy furry noses for this shy boy. We are looking for people who can give Brewski a sense of security and show him with patience, empathy, time, dog sense and lots of love how wonderful a life with us can be. Brewski needs time to arrive and to understand and get to know our world. A confident first dog who takes the young male dog by the paw and shows him many things would be an advantage.

Brewski will be completely vaccinated, dewormed and chipped by the time he embarks on his journey.

Brewski's story (as far as we know it) as well as photos and videos can be found here

Abel

Age: app. born July 2019
Gender: male
Neutered:
yes
Height: app. 50 cm
Sociable with: male and female dogs, puppies, cats

Handicap: Recurrent cough due to an old, untreated kennel cough disease

With Anca, Abel was friendly, calm and easy-going from the very first minute. He really likes to be close to "his" human. Just lying there and watching his human or dozing off is enough for this handsome male. If he receives attention in the form of kind words or an affectionate stroke, Abel is all smiles. You can clearly see how much he enjoys this and would like to receive more of it. Unfortunately, these moments are too short and Abel looks longingly after his human when he leaves his enclosure again. He would love to go with him, Abel would love to leave the shelter by his side.

Abel gets on well with other dogs right from the start. He approaches everyone in a friendly manner and wants to get to know the other person. He is submissive and wants to make friends. Abel is not a daredevil, but when other dogs run around too much and too fast, Abel does not feel comfortable. He tries to avoid the playing dogs. Abel gives way to other dogs.

However, Abel has a handicap. He coughs. Sometimes more, sometimes less and sometimes not at all. Anca consulted various vets after treatment with various antibiotics did not have the desired effect. The vets came to the conclusion that this could be the result of an old, untreated kennel cough. Anca was given tablets for the days when Abel coughs a lot. And these help Abel quite well.

We are looking for people who want to give him closeness, warmth, lots of cuddles and love for the handsome short-furred Abel. Abel doesn't need long walks. Sniffing and exploring the neighbourhood with his human would be a dream come true for Abel. We are looking for people who take Abel as he is and want to give him a loving home. Abel will certainly have a lot to learn. But we can well imagine that Abel will try everything to please his human.

Abel will be completely vaccinated, chipped, castrated and dewormed by the time he embarks on his journey.

Abel's story (as far as we know it) as well as photos and videos can be found here

Karlo

Age: born app. mid of April 2022
Gender: male
Neutered:
yes
Height: app. 55 cm
Sociable with: male and female dogs, puppies and cats

Since then, Karlo has been living with Anca in the "Safe Place" and has developed into a lively young dog. From time to time, the cheerful Karlo has a bit of mischief on his mind and tries to steal the broom from Anca or one of her helpers. But it's not even about stealing for the young male dog, he rather pursues his passion. Karlo likes to carry things around and proudly show them to his doggy buddies. Karlo likes his fellow dogs very much, size, age or gender do not matter. He is friendly to everyone and also likes to play a round or scuffle in between. Karlo also knows cats and has no problems with velvet paws.

Karlo is a modest, affectionate male dog who sometimes can't believe it when you call him to you. Then you can see the question marks in his eyes - is it really him? Stroking and cuddling him is the best thing in the world for Karlo. Then his eyes light up and his expression suddenly changes to a happy-looking furry nose. Karlo loves people more than anything and would do anything to get his own humans. Karlo knows how to wear a harness or collar, he knows how to walk on a lead (but this could be improved).

We are looking for people with dog experience who would like to show and teach Karlo everything a young dog should know and be able to do with us with joy, patience, time, empathy and lots of love. It would certainly be great for Karlo if his new people wanted to encourage his passion for carrying and fetching things. Karlo certainly wouldn't mind having a friendly companion waiting for him in his new home. Attending a dog school would be desirable.

Karlo will be completely vaccinated, dewormed, castrated and chipped by the time he embarks on his journey.

Karlo's story (as far as we know it) as well as photos and videos can be found here

Waldemar

Age: born app. end of Februar 2023
Gender: male
Neutered:
yes
Height: ca. 48 cm
Sociable with: male and female dogs, puppies and cats

A few weeks have passed. Waldemar and his siblings have made it and have grown into lively puppies. There is no sign of their skin problems. Their fur has grown back nicely. But unfortunately not Waldemar's. His fur just wouldn't grow back. His 3 siblings were gradually lucky enough to find their own families. Waldemar stayed behind. Anca tried to stimulate Waldemar's coat growth again with various medications, which she succeeded in doing after several attempts. It took some time, but now Waldemar has his coat back. Soft, wavy, slightly longer fur appeared. Throughout the treatment, Waldemar enjoyed the lotions, the stroking and the touching.

Waldemar is a rather quiet young dog who sometimes doesn't quite understand the excitement of his fellow dogs. When a two-legged friend approaches the enclosure, they all rush forward to the fence. Waldemar remains calm and waits. When the enclosure door opens and the visitor comes in, Waldemar is there to greet the two-legged friend. He loves to be stroked, licks hands and his eyes light up. Waldemar is cautious but curious in new situations. He can already walk up and down stairs and Waldemar has no objections to wearing a harness. Waldemar also knows cats and has no objections to velvet paws.

We hope that Waldemar will finally find a family to whom he can travel. People who will show this cuddly young dog what a dog's life with us can be like. Walks, adventures, a soft basket and stroking, caressing hands would be heaven on earth for Waldemar. Waldemar still has a lot to learn. House-training, walking on a lead, travelling in the car, commands and much more, but with the patience, empathy, time and love of his new owners, Waldemar is sure to master many things. Attending a dog school would be desirable.

Waldemar will be completely vaccinated, castrated, dewormed and chipped by the time he embarks on his journey.

Tajan (reserved)

Age: born app. end of March 2023
Gender: male
Neutered:
yes
Height: app. 52 cm
Sociable with: male and female dogs, puppies and cats

Both brothers, Tajan and Mijan (Mijan has already been able to leave), are now with Anca in their "safe place". Both young dogs have settled in well, even if it was a change for them in the first few days. They live together with other dogs, males and females in an enclosure without any problems. Sometimes the two handsome males are allowed to run free and then they play and romp around. They like to race each other, but other young dogs are also welcome to join in. They also like to play with dog toys. A tug rope is used to test their strength, or a dummy is carried around. Tajan gets on very well with any 4-legged friend. Size, age or gender are irrelevant. Even velvet paws have nothing to fear from Tajan.

Tajan is very friendly and open-minded towards us humans. He likes to be stroked and loves to lie half on your lap and be cuddled, even if he is actually too big for this. When not playing or resting, Tajan is rather cosy when out and about. Wearing a collar is ok for Tajan, as is walking on a lead, but of course he still needs to be trained. Tajan wants to learn and get to know the world. The handsome male is curious about new things and is eager to please his human and tries to do everything right.

We are looking for people for the beautiful Tajan who, with joy, patience, empathy, lots of love and dog sense, would like to teach Tajan everything that a young dog with us should know and be able to do. Tajan is still unfamiliar with many things and must learn and practise them. House-training, walking on a lead, commands, riding in the car and much more. But Tajan has the desire to please his human, so he will learn with enthusiasm and be very happy for praise. Attending a dog school would be desirable.

Tajan will be completely vaccinated, castrated, dewormed and chipped by the time he embarks on his journey.

Tajan's story (as far as we know it) as well as photos and videos can be found here

Edy - 2 - legged (found a foster)

Age: app. born July 2020
Gender: female
Neutered:
yes
Height: app. 45 cm
Sociable with: male and female dogs, puppies and cats

Handicap: left hind leg severed up to the knee (accident earlier),
left front leg up to the elbow no feeling anymore (probably nerves severed).

When Anca brought neutered dogs back to a farm, she saw the handicap male with a new injury on his front leg. It appeared to be broken. Edy, as Anca now called the male dog, hopped up to her on two legs and allowed himself to be stroked. Anca took Edy with her and wanted to introduce him to her vet in Botosani. She hoped that there would be a way to help Edy. And so it happened. Anca's vet suggested a fixator on Edy's front leg. It was an attempt to save Edy's leg. However, at that time they couldn't be sure that the nerves, ligaments and tendons were still intact. This would only be found out when the fixator was removed. Edy was a very kind and patient patient who let everything happen to him without any resistance or grumbling.

After some time, the fixator was removed. Unfortunately, it turned out that Edy was not putting any weight on his front leg. Anca's vet suggested a second operation to insert a plate. Unfortunately, this option did not bring the desired success for Edy either. The nerves were probably damaged in the accident. Edy cannot use his left front leg/paw. The vet sees no other way to help Edy. Edy now hops around his little world on 2 legs.

Edy is a very cuddly and affectionate male dog who is grateful for every little bit of attention and enjoys it. Just being there is enough for this handsome male. Edy likes to lie in the sun and watch the goings-on around him. He also gets on well with other dogs, regardless of gender, size or age. He likes companions who play gently with him while lying down and cuddling. Edy avoids other dogs that romp around him too much, run or even bump into him, and goes on his way. Cats are no problem at all for Edy. He accepts them as full members of the family.

Edy copes very well with his handicap. He has learnt to keep his balance. Edy even jumps/runs up and down a few steps at an amazing speed. Edy also jumps onto elevated loungers so that he can be properly cuddled by two-legged friends. If a visitor comes into the outdoor area where Edy lives with Anca, he jumps/runs towards the 2-legged friend to greet him. He usually sits down in front of the person and waits to be stroked. Then his eyes light up and it seems as if Edy is smiling.

We are looking for help, an opportunity for this cuddly male where he can enjoy his years, with lots of cuddles, a soft basket and a nice, securely fenced garden. Perhaps a place of mercy, perhaps people who would like to give Edy a home at ground level. Even if the chances are very slim, we hope so much that Edy will find a forever home.

Edy will be completely vaccinated, dewormed, chipped and castrated by the time he embarks on his journey.

Edy's story (as far as we know it) as well as photos and videos can be found here

Dave

Age: app. born mid of May 2021
Gender: male
Neutered:
yes
Height: app. 58 cm
Sociable with: male and female dogs, puppies and cats

Dave was the tallest of his siblings, but also the calmest and most composed. Hardly anything can draw gentle Dave out of his reserve. He is friendly and peaceful to his fellow dogs, so the big male is allowed to live freely in the large run together with other dogs, of both sexes. Despite his size, Dave is at the back of the pack. It happens more and more often that Dave is bullied by other males. He then quickly disappears and tries to avoid all disputes. However, puppies and growing young dogs always try to win Dave's gust. When other dogs are romping, playing and running around, Dave keeps out of the way and watches. In between, he will play along, but if it gets too intense for him, Dave prefers to withdraw and watch again.

Dave likes to lie in the sun and enjoys the closeness to his dog friends. But if someone, a helper from Anca or a visitor comes into the "Safe Place", the handsome, almost black Dave can't be held back any more. Whether it's a woman, a man or a child, Dave greets everyone effusively, licks hands and shows his love for us humans. He can't get enough cuddles, that's how much he longs for attention. However, Dave sometimes forgets how big he is and tries to get on our laps or puts his head on our leg. You can see that body contact is important to Dave, both with us humans and with his fellow dogs. Dave also knows cats and gets along well with the velvet paws.

From his outward appearance, as well as from his character traits, a Great Dane could be found in Dave's ancestral gallery. He is sensitive, gentle, calm, cuddly and very devoted to people. Therefore, we are looking for people for the cuddly Dave, possibly a family with older, stable children, who have a preference for large dogs, perhaps even Great Dane lovers. Depending on the light, Dave's coat colour sometimes changes from black to rusty brown.

We are looking for dog-experienced people who would like to teach Dave with dedication and joy everything that a male dog should know and be able to do. Dave wouldn't mind having a friendly companion waiting for him in his new home. Attending a dog school would be desirable.

Dave will be completely vaccinated, chipped, castrated and dewormed by the time he embarks on his journey.

Dave's story (as far as we know it) as well as photos and videos can be found here

Rasty

Age: app. born mid of April 2022
Gender: male
Neutered:
yes
Height: app. 50 cm
Sociable with: male and female dogs, puppies and cats

Some time has now passed since Rasty and his siblings were found in time and brought to safety. Otherwise the 4 little fur babies would most probably have died of thirst. But now the 4 puppies live with Anca in her "safe place" together with other young dogs. Rasty, Ronda, Romina and Resi (Resi has found a home) have developed very well and have grown into cheerful and bright young dogs. They love to play catch or pull rope with their dog friends. Or they can lie together and doze off after a strenuous game of racing. Rasty is also familiar with cats and has no problems with velvet paws.

Rasty is initially cautious with strangers and looks at the person he is meeting first. If you call him to you, he comes over, sniffs your hands and face and then likes to be stroked. If a familiar 2-legged friend comes to him, his joy is huge. Rasty loves to be stroked and cuddled. Rasty likes to show his affection for us 2-legged friends by giving kisses and cuddles. Rasty looks lovingly at his 2-legged friend, hoping to be allowed to go with his human. Rasty is an agile, young dog who is curious to explore his world. He is interested in everything new, but is careful when doing so. Rasty is not a daredevil or rushes forward headlong, on the contrary, he looks, weighs things up and takes his time.

We are looking for dog-experienced people for Rasty who can show this handsome boy how wonderful a dog's life can be with us. Lovely walks, adventures, a soft basket, cuddles and snuggles with his humans - yes, Rasty would love that. The handsome male dog still has a lot to learn, but with the patience, empathy and love of his new family, Rasty will certainly be able to master everything. The handsome boy would certainly have no objection to having a friendly dog buddy in his new home. But this is not a must. Attending a dog school would be desirable.

Rasty will be completely vaccinated, dewormed, castrated and chipped by the time he embarks on his journey.

Oscar

Age: app. born May 2021
Gender: male
Neutered:
yes
Height: app. 48 cm
Sociable with: male and female dogs, puppies, cats

Oscar is one of those 8 puppies that someone had put in a cardboard box and dumped like rubbish in a rubbish tip. As the months passed, almost all of his siblings found loving families to travel to. Only Oscar and Odin are still waiting for their chance to live a full doggy life.

Over the months Oscar has grown into a beautiful, friendly male. He lives with Anca in her "Safe Place" free in the run together with other dogs of both sexes. The young male gets along very well with everyone, gender, size or age don't matter. Oscar even accepts the jostling of young dogs or the chumming up of puppies. Oscar also likes to play with his dog friends, but it should not be too violent, then Oscar will withdraw from the game. Oscar likes to lie in the sun with his brother Odin or with other dog friends. Nothing can upset Oscar that quickly.

However, there is one thing that makes the handsome male quickly become active. People. Oscar loves us two-legged friends more than anything. If a helper or visitor comes to the "Safe Place", Oscar is immediately on the spot to greet the person joyfully, no matter whether it is a woman, a man or a child - known to him or a stranger. If Oscar then gets a short stroke, his eyes light up and it seems Oscar is smiling. The lovely male dog follows the human, rather unobtrusively, and waits for the opportunity to be properly cuddled. With pleasure and devotion, Oscar stretches out towards the stroking hand, hands are licked and again and again Oscar tries to encourage the hand to continue caressing him. In short, Oscar is a very cuddly, people-oriented young male who wants to do everything right to please his human. Oscar also knows cats and gets on well with velvet paws.

We are looking for a family with older children who would like a cuddly, affectionate four-legged friend who can't get enough cuddles. Doggy kisses and hand licking included. We are looking for people for Oscar who would like to experience adventures with him, teach him commands and tricks with joy and show him how nice it is to have a family of his own. A family that Oscar looks up to and wants to please. Oscar will still have a lot to learn, but with patience, empathy, time and love from his new people, Oscar will be able to master many things with joy and devotion. Attending a dog school would be desirable.

Oscar will be completely vaccinated, chipped, dewormed and castrated by the time he embarks on his journey.

Odin

Age: app. born May 2021
Gender: male
Neutered:
yes
Height: app. 47 cm
Sociable with: male and female dogs, puppies, cats

Odin is one of those 8 puppies that someone had put in a cardboard box and dumped like rubbish in a rubbish tip. As the months passed, almost all of his siblings found loving families to travel to. Only Odin and Oscar are still waiting for their chance to live a full doggy life.

Over the months Odin has grown into a beautiful, friendly male. He lives with Anca in her "Safe Place" free in the run together with other dogs of both sexes. The young male gets along very well with everyone, gender, size or age don't matter. Odin loves to romp and run around with every four-legged friend and of course he loves to do this with his brother Oscar. And after a game of scuffle, Odin likes to lie down with his doggy friends and rest, doze and enjoy the sun on his fur. Many a time Odin is also mischievous and steals the broom from Aca's helpers and drags it away. He then looks mischievously around the corner and waits to see what happens.

Odin is friendly towards us humans, but he waits. He doesn't really dare to approach us. You can see very clearly that Odin wants to be petted. He wants to be stroked. He wants to be close, but he needs time to take that one step further and outgrow himself. After a few minutes, Odin can be touched on the muzzle. He prances around and tries to come closer again and again. Odin shows his teeth while dancing around. He pulls his lips up. At first this looks dangerous, but it is not, because Odin even tries to touch, poke and lick the hand. Only Odin doesn't really dare to stop.

We are looking for people who have experience with reserved dogs and who can help Odin to jump over his own shadow and accept the attention he so desperately wants. We are looking for a home for Odin in a rural area. It would be nice if he had a confident dog lover waiting there to show him that it is actually quite easy to accept and enjoy petting. Odin needs time to get to know his people and to build up trust. His new people should have patience, empathy, dog experience and stamina in order to lead Odin into a fulfilled dog life.

Odin will be completely vaccinated, chipped, dewormed and castrated by the time he embarks on his journey.

Odin's story (as far as we know it) as well as photos and videos can be found here

Kenzo

Age: app. born July 2021
Gender: male
Neutered:
yes
Height: app. 50 cm
Sociable with: male and female dogs, puppies and cats

Kenzo is one of those puppies that were brought into the forest to die there. Together with his 2 siblings Kevin and Lisa (both siblings were lucky and could already leave Romania) he survived. Since then, Kenzo has been living with Anca in her "Safe Place" together with other dogs in the outdoor enclosure. The young male has grown up to be an outgoing and playful young dog. Kenzo was the tallest of his siblings and also the calmest. He calmly observes the goings-on in the "Safe Place". When other dogs run around excitedly because a bird is sitting on a post, Kenzo watches with interest and calmly how the situation develops. Kenzo is just as calm when visitors enter the area. He waits with interest to see who is coming and if the opportunity arises, he is happy when the visitor speaks to him. Kenzo greets them with a joyful wag and then clearly shows that he wants to be petted. Kenzo is curious and shows interest in many things.

Kenzo is just as friendly and open-minded towards people as he is towards his fellow dogs. Kenzo loves to be stroked, presses himself against his human and wants to be very close to him. However, sometimes Kenzo forgets that he is not a small dog, so Kenzo's new home should also have stable children, otherwise he could easily be knocked over. Sometimes Kenzo just thinks he is a lap dog and will push his head under your arm to show "pet me". And Kenzo loves water. In summer, when sand shells are filled with water, there is no stopping Kenzo. He dips his head into the water, playfully digging through it and having a blast. Unfortunately, he doesn't have this opportunity for long, because the water quickly sits out of the sand shells and Kenzo can no longer pursue his passion for "water".

We are looking for people for Kenzo, possibly a family with older children, who have a preference for water-loving dogs. We are looking for people with dog experience, patience, calmness, empathy and time, who would like to teach and show a young dog everything there is to learn and discover here with us. Kenzo does not yet know how to be house-trained, walk on a lead, ride in the car, give commands and so much more. But he is a curious and eager-to-learn young dog who will certainly master everything with the support of his new people. A visit to a dog school would be desirable.

Kenzo will be completely vaccinated, chipped, castrated and dewormed by the time he embarks on his journey.

Kenzo's story (as far as we know it) as well as photos and videos can be found here
