A small farmhouse with a small piece of land and its owner, this is the refuge of 6 street dogs and several street cats.
Ion, an elderly gentleman was the owner and had a big heart for street animals. He saw the need of the animals and although he himself lived in poor circumstances, he always had some of his own food left over to give to a hungry dog or cat. And so, little by little, 5 street dogs and several cats came together to live in peace on Ion's property. The 5 dogs could come and go whenever they wished and yet they always stayed near or on the property. Ion gave them a safe place, some food and water, attention and love.

Anca had known Ion for many years and knew of his love for animals. She brought him dry food for his street dogs from time to time in the beginning. But it was important to Anca that the dogs would be castrated and so she discussed the benefits of castrating the animals with Ion. In August 2016, the time had come. The 5 street dogs were to be castrated. As the animals were still reserved and cautious towards humans at that time, it was difficult to catch them and bring them to the vet. Anca and a friend managed to catch the dogs in stages.
Of course, after the castration/recovery period, the 5 dogs came back to Ion. From that time on, Anca visited Ion and "his" street dogs regularly and brought them food. Little by little, Anca also had the street cats neutered. The 6th street dog came a few years later. It was a little puppy girl that Ion had found at the nearby dumpster and took with him.
Over time, the 6 street dogs became more and more trusting and are very happy when they hear Anca's car approaching. Anca is greeted with joy. The dogs run around excitedly and their eyes light up. And you can even stroke them and cuddle some of them. This also makes it easier for Anca to treat the 6 street dogs for parasites and vermin, or even to help with minor injuries.

Ion was always there when Anca needed a place for a dog in need of help. Especially in the time before the "Safe Place" existed and foster places were scarce, Ion was always ready to help. Many dogs and cats owe their lives to Ion. Ion found many "discarded" animals at the waste place and was able to save them from a cruel death.
Ion had a big heart for animals and felt their need.
He was also a friendly, open and very charming man.
And whoever knew him and thinks of him now feels the warmth and affection,
he gave to the street dogs in need.
Sadly, Ion passed away in September 2019. :-(
Natürlich kümmert sich Anca weiter um Ions 6 Straßentiere, die weiterhin an seinem Haus und Grundstück leben. Seit ein paar Monaten hat das Haus einen neuen Besitzer und zum Glück, dieser akzeptiert die Hunde und Katzen. Sie dürfen weiterhin dort in Frieden leben. Anca besucht Ions Rudel jeden Tag, schaut nach ihnen, füttert sie, gibt ihnen Zuwendung.
